Weeooowww, Easter time…bunnies, chocolate and mega barrels! Well, unfortunately Huey didn’t come to the party with the mega barrels but the South West corner still dished up some pearlers. The waves on Saturday morning were fun with light offshore winds. The southerly came in pretty quick but there were still plenty to be had at small wave reefs and beachies. Easter Sunday was pretty much a write off with howling SW’lies so eating, drinking and making merry was the order of the day.
Monday was a big improvement on Sunday with a SSE’ly blowing and a spike in the swell. Bays and points offered some protection from the south in the wind and there were some good waves on offer. West Oz hero, Jake Patterson paddled out at Yallingup Mainbreak while I was surfing and did some big turns but I was too slow getting to shore to grab my camera - as quickly as he came…he was gone. Bugga. The beach break down the road served up some thick ones too…
For all you metal fans, Slayer are coming to Perth this Thursday to play a hecka mega death metal gig. It’s going to be feeelth! *insert sound of ninja wailing on his guitar on a mountain top here*
Next weekend is looking pretty grim with strong westerlies forecast. Spin off? There’s going to be plenty of swell around. Yeus!
I hope everyone had a great Easter.
