It wasn’t a classic weekend of surf for WA but there are some spots south of Perth that love northerly winds, moulding and caressing rogue southern ocean swells into whackable beachie bumps. Yay! After an early start Saturday morning and a long drive, team ww rocked up to find fun, overhead peaks scattered up and down a remote beach…
A solid 4wd is key in these parts if you want a ticket to the best sandbanks. We made some mad dashes across intermittently submerged beach tracks as cheeky waves clawed at our tyres, trying to pull us into the drink.
More of the same was up for grabs Sunday morning…but with a building swell, strong offshore winds and an outgoing tide, the waves just got better and better! Before we knew it, overhead hollow lefts were grinding down the sand. Frothing!
It’s so good escaping to the country after all the Easter and school holiday palava has wrapped up, how’s the serenity?!
Hope you had a good un. This weekend is looking a bit faulty wind wise, heaps of swell around though. Fingers crossed…
