I couldn’t get away last weekend so I’ve put together a mixed bag of shots from some trips I’ve done over the last year including Tahiti, Sydney and some remote parts of Oz, a bit of a retrospective.
These next shots were from a session at North Narrabeen last October. Damian Hardman and hot rat Davey Cathles were murdering it.
You can probably guess where these next shots were taken. I was lucky enough to be at Teahupoo (Tahiti) for the biggest swell of the year last July and saw some incredible surfing - Shane Dorian, Laidback Laird Hamilton, Dylan Longbottom, Laurie Towner, Monoa Drollet, Mark Healey, Corey Lopez and a heap of others towing and paddling into massive, mind blowing tubes. Shane Backdoorian was the standout for sure, how are his two hideously large barrels below? Outstanding! I can’t wait to get back there.
The last few weeks have been pretty baltic in south west WA. John and the boys at SOS Surf in Freo hooked me up with a O’Neill Psycho2 steamer last week to help me battle the cold. It’s the second P2 I’ve had and I reckon they’re one of the best wetsuits around, really flexy and warm. SOS is keen to look after ww subscribers, so if you need a new wetsuit head down to SOS and mention the weekend warrior for 20% off any wetsuit in the shop. Bargain! Go to the SOS Surf website for details.
Looks like a mediocre weekend of surf coming up…might have to go deep south or north to dodge the bad weather on the horizon. Hope you have a good one!
