It was a pretty unusual weekend of weather for sou’ west WA. A low pressure system settled over the south west corner bringing unseasonal cloud and rain. However, the high pressure system rotating in the Great Aussie Bite was strong enough to keep the southeasterly winds blowing over the weekend. There wasn’t much swell around but there were a few little waves up for grabs for the keen at heart.
Saturday morning was microbial at Margaret River Mainbreak, so small wave magnets were the call. There are a handful of reef and beach breaks scattered along the Margs coast that offer some respite in small swells. One of these beachies is a bit out of the way and is flanked by beautiful granite cliffs at both ends of the small beach. The sand banks were pretty good so there were a couple of fun ones coming through.
Long lefts and rights were spinning down the beach offering up some racy little walls and floater sections.
Sunday was pretty grim - cold and rainy with a brisk SSE’ly blowing. There weren’t many takers, even at the small wave magnets.
Emer Boothman has taken out the new subscribers competition by introducing 32 new crew to The Weekend Warrior. Onya Emer…legend. Let me know which print you would like. Massive respect to everyone else who participated.
It’s shaping up to be pretty small again for the weekend. A 1-1.5m swell will be kicking around with offshore winds…fingers crossed. Enjoy!
Christmas is just around the corner so if you have a favourite shot from the ww archives or my portfolio then shoot me an email with your order and I will get it to you as soon as possible.
