Some regulation wintery weather put the kibosh on the epic run of surf we had a couple of weeks back, but things looked up at the end of last week with a small window of offshore winds and clean swell before the northerly set in again on Saturday afternoon.
There were good waves scattered all up and down the Margs coast on Friday morning. This reef-break had some throaty tubes spinning down the reef…
As the tide dropped over the afternoon, a beach-break south of Margs began to turn on. The sand-banks were great, funneling the swell lines into clean peaks. The boulders to the north of the beach put on a bit of a show too.
The same beachie was pumping again on Saturday morning but word had spread so there were plenty of crew in the water enjoying the beautiful conditions.
How’s this storm we’re copping at the moment? It’s going to be pumping everywhere when the wind backs off a bit later in the week, yew!
